Russians launch 40 air targets at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defence shot down eight missiles

On the night of January 13, the Russian army fired 40 air targets at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defence systems shot down eight missiles.

The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported.

In total, the Russians launched

  • seven S-300/S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles;
  • three Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs;
  • six X-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles
  • up to 12 X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles
  • six X-22 cruise missiles;
  • two X-31P guided missiles;
  • four X-59 guided missiles.

The missiles were launched both from the territory of Russia and from the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.

Ukrainian air defence systems downed seven X-101/X-555/X-55 cruise missiles and one X-59 guided missile.

The Air Force noted that more than 20 of the missiles failed to reach their targets due to electronic countermeasures.

A missile hit the city of Dnipro. The consequences are still being investigated. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.
