Russians kill one civilian and wound two others in Donetsk region

On October 18, Russia launched 135 Shahed combat drones at Ukrainian cities. The air attack was repulsed by the aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces. In total, 80 drones were shot down, 44 lost radar contact (they fell under the influence of electronic warfare), and another two flew to Belarus. As of noon, a total of 126 UAVs had been destroyed. Defense operations against nine more UAVs inside Ukraine are underway.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russian troops attacked Kurakhove, Lyman, Siversk, Toretsk, Chasiv Yar, Kurakhivka, and Zvirove. As a result of the shelling of Kurakhivka, the Russians killed one civilian, and two more civilians were injured in Kurakhove and Chasiv Yar. Private and apartment buildings, an educational institution, and a garage were also damaged.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the communities of Bohodukhiv, Starosaltiv, Vovchansk, and Bezliudivka with aircraft and UAVs. One civilian was killed as a result of the Russian aggression. The hotel premises and vehicles were damaged.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russia attacked Kherson, Kizomys, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Oleksandrivka, Shyroka Balka, Stanislav, Beryslav, Odradokamianka, Novovorontsovka, and Novoraisk. Three civilians were injured as a result of Russian aggression. A coffee shop, a commercial establishment, a multi-story building, private houses, a gas pipeline, an outbuilding, and private cars were damaged.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russian army shelled Nikopol and the communities of Myrove and Marhanets with artillery and UAVs. Three civilians were injured in Marhanets as a result of the shelling. Private and multi-story buildings, an enterprise, infrastructure, outbuildings, power lines, gas pipelines, and transport were destroyed. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians attacked Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Novomykolaivka, Malynivka, and Levadne with UAVs, aircraft, MLRS, and artillery. In total, the Russians struck 234 times at nine settlements. Residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were destroyed. No civilians were injured.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, Russia shelled the Kutsurub community with artillery. No damage or casualties. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops fired artillery, mortars, grenade launchers, and UAVs at the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Horodnia, and Snovsk. There is no information on damage or casualties. 

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russia shelled the communities of Khotin, Bilopillia, Nova Sloboda, and Shalyhyne with UAVs and artillery. There is no information on damage or casualties.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army attacked Hrekivka, Nadiia, Balka Zhuravka, and Bilohorivka with artillery and UAVs. There is no information on damage and casualties.
