Russians have murdered 73 Ukrainian POWs — Prosecutor General's Office


The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are conducting a pre-trial investigation into 265 crimes committed by Russians against Ukrainian prisoners of war.

Currently, more than 1500 Ukrainian servicemen are victims of such crimes, 73 of whom were murdered.

Two people have been announced as primary suspects of ill-treatment of prisoners of war, including one of murder. Investigations in other proceedings are ongoing.

On April 12, Russian propaganda media spread a video showing the execution of a Ukrainian soldier. CNN reported that two videos showing decapitated Ukrainian soldiers appeared on social media. One of them was filmed recently, and the other was filmed in the summer.

Russian military also shot dead a sniper of the 163rd battalion of the 119th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Chernihiv region, Oleksandr Matsiievskyi, who shouted "Glory to Ukraine!".
