As reported on February 22, it became known that Russian propagandist of the HTB channel Harry Knyagnitskiy has probably been working for the Russian service of the Voice of America since November 2022, as evidenced by his materials on the website of the American foreign service.

While working for the Russian TV channel HTB, Knyagnitskiy was a war correspondent and filmed propaganda stories about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. One of the propaganda stories was a video about the alleged "shelling of civilians by the Ukrainian army".

15 Voice of America employees sent a letter to the heads of the organisation's Russian service. The journalists demanded the dismissal of Knyagnitskiy and Davidova because their previous work "contributed to the spread of Russian propaganda narratives and disinformation,” vilified the United States and “laid the groundwork for the Kremlin to justify their full-scale invasion” of Ukraine last year.

Voice of America Public Affairs Officer Nigel Gibbs says, "Management is conducting a thorough review of the matter and has held several discussions on the issue to address staff questions and concerns directly."
