Russians drop a banned chemical munition on Ukrainian military positions near Mariinka
Valerii Shershen, the spokesman for the Joint Press Centre of the Tavriia Defence Task Forces, said during the telethon that Russian troops had used a chemical munition in the Mariinka direction to attack Ukrainian positions.
"The fact of dropping a prohibited asphyxiating aerosol chemical munition on one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' positions was recorded. The wind blew in the direction of the enemy," said Valerii Shershen.
He said that the Russians are focusing their main efforts on assaults in the Avdiivka and Mariinka sectors.
"13 combat engagements took place here. Almost all of them took place in the area of Mariinka. The enemy was pushed back. In addition, Russians fired over 440 times at our positions using tanks, multiple rocket launchers, and cannon artillery," said Shershen.
