Relatives identified them — they are Ukrainian soldiers who were not evacuated from the Zenit position in Avdiivka, Ukrainian media outlet Slidstvo.Info reports, citing relatives of the soldiers.
These are soldiers of the 110th separate mechanised brigade named after Marko Bezruchko.
The sister of soldier Ivan Zhytnyk, call sign Django, identified his body by his clothes and the water bottle he was holding when the Ukrainian soldiers were being taken out of the mine by Russians. Ivan was talking to his family via video when the occupiers entered their makeshift hospital in the mine.
Another fallen soldier of the 110th Brigade, Andrii Dubnytskyi, with the call sign Bairaktar, was identified by his brother-in-arms Viktor Biliak and his wife Liudmyla. They identified him by a tattoo of a cross on his arm. On February 14, Andrii Dubnytskyi remained at the Zenit position along with other wounded.
Georgii Pavlov, with the call sign Panda, was together with Andrii Dubnytskyi in the video filmed by Russians. His mother, Inna, recognised him. The woman says the soldiers had been waiting for the evacuation for three days.
The journalists of "Slidstvo.Info" asked the press service of the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade for a comment. They replied that they needed to verify the information.
In addition, in a comment to Suspilne, the spokesperson for the Tavria OSGT told Suspilne that the information about the alleged execution of Ukrainian prisoners in Avdiivka was being investigated and that it was not possible to confirm or deny it.
