Russian shelling of Kramatorsk leaves two dead and 16 wounded

On the night of September 26, 2024, Russia launched two missiles of an unspecified type, four X-59/69 guided missiles, and 78 Shahed attack drones at Ukraine. The Air Defence Forces reported shooting down four X-59/69 guided missiles and 66 attack drones. Eight drones lost radar contact (went down in several regions of Ukraine).

In the Kyiv region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, with combat drones. Drone wreckage damaged 20 cars, the territory of a kindergarten, and a gas pipe in a residential building. The Kyiv City Military Administration reports no casualties.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Ivashky, Prykolotne, Duvanka, Varvarivka and Bohuslavka, injuring one civilian. 

In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine  and partially occupied since 2014, the Russians launched 2,807 attacks on Vuhledar, Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Lyman, Pokrovsk, Siversk, Novoekonomichne, Bohoiavlenka, Dibrova, Dronivka, Zvirove, Nykanorivka, Novopavlivka, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Orikhuvatka and Torske. In Kramatorsk, 19 residential buildings and 13 civilian cars were damaged. Sixteen civilians were injured, among them three children. Two civilians were killed. 

Russian shelling killed one civilian in Dronivka, wounded one civilian in Hirnyk and killed another. One civilian was injured in Pokrovsk.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol and the communities of Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk. Five private houses, a car, an outbuilding, two dozen solar panels, a school and some infrastructure were damaged. A power line was also hit. The regional military administration reported no casualties. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians shelled Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs, damaging private houses. Eight people were injured, including a child. In total, the Russian army hit 11 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region with 424 rockets. Some 126 residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged.  

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russians attacked an energy infrastructure facility with drones. Part of the region was left without electricity. Russians also shelled the Kutsurub community with FPV combat drones. The regional military administration reported no casualties. 

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Bilozerka, Komyshany, Stanislav, Sadove, Muzykivka, Naddniprianske, Zymivnyk, Tomyna Balka, Shyroka Balka, Inzhenerne, Tokarivka, Novodmytrivka, Beryslav, Monastyrske, Shliakhove, Mykhailivka, Zolota Balka, Velyka Oleksandrivka, Havrylivka, Tomaryne, Odradokamianka and Kherson. Fourteen civilians were injured and two died. An administrative building, cultural and medical facilities, agricultural enterprises and shops, 9 multi-storey buildings and 20 private houses, a mobile phone tower, a gas pipeline, a warehouse, lock-ups, agricultural machinery, company and private cars were damaged. 

Russians attacked the Odesa region, south of Ukraine, with rockets and drones, damaging buildings and cars. One civilian died. Dry grass caught fire. 

In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, south-west of Ukraine, the Russians used combat drones to target an energy infrastructure facility. Part of Ivano-Frankivsk remains without electricity. The regional military administration reports no casualties. 

The Russian army carried out 171 attacks with various types of weapons in the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north. Eight private houses, an outbuilding, a car and a gas pipeline were damaged. Dry grass field also caught fire. One civilian was killed. 

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the localities of Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka. The regional military administration reported no casualties.
