Russian shelling of Kherson region leaves 15 wounded

On the night of November 1, Russia launched three X-59/69 guided missiles, 48 Shahed combat drones and unspecified drones into Ukraine. The Air Defence Forces reported the downing of 31 UAVs in the Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Chernihiv, Odesa and Poltava regions. 

In October, Russia launched a total of 2,023 combat UAVs of various types towards Ukraine. Air defence forces shot down 1,185 UAVs.

In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Kherson, Antonivka, Prydniprovske, Sadove, Tomyna Balka, Bilozerka, Honcharne, Stanislav, Sofiyivka, Nadezhdivka, Molodizhne, Beryslav, Zolota Balka, Tiahynka, Krupytsia, Dudchany, Novooleksandrivka, Novokaiiry, and Tomaryne came under Russian attack. One civilian died and 15 suffered injuries due to the attacks. Eleven private homes were damaged. 

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russian army attacked Nikopol and the community of Myrove with artillery and kamikaze drones. One civilian was injured. A private house, power lines, infrastructure, an administrative building and two abandoned buildings were damaged. 

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, Russians shelled Tavriiske, Yurkivka, Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, and Malynivka. Over the past 24 hours, Russia has carried out 287 attacks in the region damaging sixteen residential buildings and infrastructure facilities. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Kyiv region, bordering Belarus to the north, two private houses were damaged by falling debris from downed drones. 

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russia targeted Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Donetske, Dronivka, Zhovte, and Romanivka. Six residential buildings, an industrial facility, two enterprises, two tractors, a medical facility, a farm and a civilian vehicle were damaged. The number of shells fired in the region during the day was 2,682. Two civilians were wounded. 

In the Luhansk region, almost entirely occupied by Russia, the Russians shelled Makiivka and Balka Zhuravka with cannon artillery and drones. 

In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russian army fired an FPV drone at the Kutsurub community. The shelling damaged a private house. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Poltava region, in the centre and northeast of Ukraine, the Russians attacked the Poltava community with drones. Three residential buildings and an outbuilding sustained damage. A house caught fire.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian army conducted 137 strikes on 25 settlements. Two civilians were injured. Five private houses, a farm warehouse, and a car were damaged. 

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, Russia assaulted Kharkiv, Bilashi, Derhachi, Kupiansk, and Kucherivka. A private house and three cars were shattered. The roof of a two-storey building caught fire due to the shelling. Six residents were injured and one died. 

In the Cherkasy region in the centre of Ukraine, located along the Dnipro, the falling wreckage of downed drones damaged residential infrastructure in the Zolotonosha district. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Mikhalchyna Sloboda, Mkhy, Bleshnia, Leonivka, Kostobobriv, Senkivka, and Hirsk. The Russian army deployed mortars, cannon artillery, UAVs and FPV drones.

A Russian missile attack on Odesa, a major seaport in the southwest of the country on October 30, damaged fire trucks and a fire station. Two rescuers sustained injuries.
