Russian shelling kills one civilian and wounds 36 in Zaporizhzhia region

On the night of October 2, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 32 Shahed combat UAVs. As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 11 combat UAVs in the Kirovohrad, Odesa, and Sumy regions. Another four drones changed their course toward Russia, and ten lost radar contact.

In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied in the south since 2022, one civilian was killed and 36 injured as a result of Russian shelling from UAVs, aircraft, MLRS, and artillery. Infrastructure was destroyed in Zaporizhzhia, Lobkove, Shcherbaky, Orikhiv, Temyrivka, Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Chervonodniprovka, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Levadne.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Kherson, Antonivka, Stanislav, Veletenske, Shyroka Balka, Tokarivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Kizomys, Dariivka, Tomyna Balka, Pervomaiske, Beryslav, and Sablukivka. As a result of Russian aggression, six civilians were killed, and 11 others were injured. An educational institution, a pharmacy, a church, residential buildings, a gas pipeline, an outbuilding, and a private car were damaged.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians attacked Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Derhachi, Cherkaska Lozova, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Vasyltsivka, Bohuslavka, Kindrashivka, and Myrne. Seven civilians were injured in Kupiansk and Derhachi, including one child. Private and apartment buildings, ambulance stations, outbuildings, garages, and vehicles were damaged.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, Russian troops attacked Sloviansk, Bilytske, Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Dachne, Dovha Balka, Krasnoiarske, Mykolaivka, and Svitle with aircraft and artillery. Five residents of the Donetsk region were injured in Krasnoiarske, Sloviansk, and Dovha Balka. Residential buildings, critical infrastructure facilities, educational institutions, administrative buildings, a bus stop, a shop, trade pavilions, a boiler house, garages, and vehicles were damaged.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol, as well as the communities of Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove, Pokrovske, and Marhanets with artillery and UAVs. Infrastructure was damaged, but no civilians were injured.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russian troops attacked the communities of Sumy, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia, and Richky, as well as the Shostka district with UAVs, artillery, and aviation. A critical infrastructure facility was damaged, with no casualties.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops fired artillery, mortars, MLRS, UAVs, and tanks at settlements in the Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities. A farm, a private house, and a vehicle were damaged. There were no casualties.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, Russia shelled the community of Kutsurub. There were no casualties or damage.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army attacked Balka Zhuravka with artillery, MLRS, and UAVs. There is no information on casualties or damage.
