Russian shelling in Kharkiv region kills two civilians and injures 12 others, including a child

On the night of September 8, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with four X-59 guided missiles and 23 Shahed combat UAVs.  As a result of the air combat, one X-59 guided missile and 15 Shahed combat UAVs were shot down. Two more enemy drones lost radar contact (presumably, they fell under the influence of electronic warfare). In addition, three X-59 missiles failed to reach their targets due to active resistance from the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russian troops shelled the communities of Semenivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, and Snovsk with artillery, mortars and UAVs. There is no information on casualties or damage. 

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russian armed forces attacked Kharkiv and the communities of Kurylivka, Kupiansk, Borova, Derhachi, Shevchenkove, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Mala Danylivka, Malynivka, and Slobozhanske. The shelling resulted in two deaths and 12 injuries, including one child. Residential buildings, a lyceum, a school, an ambulance, warehouses, outbuildings, and vehicles were destroyed.  

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline, Russia attacked Hirnyk, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Petrivka, Shcherbynivka, Katerynivka, Malynivka, and Nova Poltavka with artillery and guided aerial bombs. Artillery shelling killed three civilians in Kostiantynivka and two in Petrivka and Shcherbynivka. Eleven people were wounded. The shelling resulted in the destruction and damage to residential buildings, medical facilities, a pharmacy, a shop, educational institutions, an industrial enterprise, a post office, a hotel, an administrative building, critical infrastructure, and transport.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, Russia shelled the communities of Ochakiv and Kutsurub. There were no casualties or damage. 

In the Kherson region, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Kizomys, Tokarivka, Prydniprovske, Shyroka Balka, Honcharne, Poniativka, Beryslav, Urozhaine, Tiahynka, Havrylivka, Zmiivka, Odradokamianka, Osokorivka, and Vesele. One civilian was killed, and nine others were injured as a result of the Russian attacks. Critical infrastructure, medical facilities, high-rise buildings, private houses, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, a warehouse, and vehicles were damaged. 

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians attacked Nikopol and the communities of Myrove and Marhanets with artillery, UAVs and kamikaze drones. The attacks killed one resident and injured two others. Infrastructure, private houses, and outbuildings were damaged. 

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russia attacked the communities of Sumy, Myropillia, Mykolaivka, Esman, Svesa, and Berezivka with guided aerial bombs, mortars, and missiles. As a result of the attack on Sumy with guided aerial bombs, two civilians were killed, and four others were injured, including two children. Information about the damage is being updated.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, Russian troops attacked Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Zelenyi Hai, Piatykhatky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Poltavka, and Uspenivka with UAVs, MLRS, aircraft and artillery. In total, the Russians launched 310 attacks on 12 settlements. The attacks resulted in damage to infrastructure and residential buildings, with no casualties. 

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army attacked Nevske and Makiivka with artillery, MLRS, and UAVs. There is no information on casualties.
