Russian shelling in Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv region, wounds four children
On the night of August 13, 2024, Russia launched 2 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 38 Shahed combat drones against Ukraine. The Air Defence Forces reported the destruction of 30 Shahed drones in the Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians launched a missile attack on Bohodukhiv and nearby settlements on the evening of August 12. According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the Russians used North Korean KN-23/KN-24 missiles. The Russians also shelled Vovchansk, Moskalenky, Zabrody, Pisky-Radkivski, and Kindrashivka. Seven civilians were injured, including four children.
In the Donetsk region, located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine and partially occupied since 2014, the Russian army launched 2,609 attacks on Kostiantynivka, Toretsk, Ukrainsk and Bohoiavlenka. 16 residential buildings, an educational institution, a student dormitory, a workshop, a car, and power lines were damaged. Four civilians were injured and four others were killed.
In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians shelled Nevske and Makiivka with 108 FPV combat drones. The Regional Military Administration reported no casualties reported no casualties.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka and Pokrovsk communities. In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Bilozerka, Veletenske, Prydniprovske, Tomyna Balka, Stanislav, Zymivnyk, Poniativka, Antonivka, Darivka, Sadove, Muzykivka, Beryslav, Burhunka, Chervonyi Mayak, Mykhailivka, Krupytsia, Odradokamianka, Shliakhove, Vesele and Kherson. Seven multi-storey buildings and 36 private houses, a gas pipeline, outbuildings, private cars and an ambulance were damaged. 17 civilians sustained injuries, including two children. One civilian was killed.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians targeted Bakhmach with Shahed-type combat drones. According to local authorities, there were no casualties. Russians also shelled the Snovsk and Semenivka communities. The Regional Military Administration reported no casualties reported no casualties.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian army launched a missile attack on the civilian infrastructure of Sumy on the night of August 13. Part of the regional centre was left in a blackout. One civilian suffered injuries.
