Russian missile strike kills a man and his four-year-old son in Kyiv region

In the Kyiv region, the Russians fired Iskander-М/KN-23 at Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The Air Force destroyed the missiles in the suburbs. Missile fragments damaged eight private houses and cars. Three people were injured, including one child. Two people — a father and a four-year-old son — were killed.

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia to the east, the Russians struck Zolochiv, Lisna Stinka, Kurylivka, Kupiansk, Velyki Prokhody, and Mytrofanivka. Private houses, administrative buildings, and production facilities were damaged. One person died in Lisna Stinka as a result of shelling.

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russians struck 2,964 times at Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk, Kurakhove, Lyman, Mykolaivka, Myrnohrad, Novohrodivka, Selydove, Toretsk, Hrodivka, Vremivka, Hannaivka, Kalynove, Markove, Stinky, and Shakhtarske. The shelling damaged 13 residential buildings, a critical infrastructure facility, cars, and power lines. Three people were injured. Three people died in Kramatorsk, Stinky and Hrodivka.

In Kostiantynivka, a search and rescue operation for a shopping centre was completed after Russian shelling on August 9. Fourteen people were killed, including two children and 44 people were injured.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol and the communities of Myrove, Marhanets, and Pokrovske. An apartment building, an outbuilding, an administrative building, an agricultural and utility company, a medical facility, a car, and a fire truck were damaged. The regional military administration reported no casualties.

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russians struck Nevske and Makiivka with cannon artillery, rocket artillery and combat drones. The regional military administration reported no casualties.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Dniprovske and Ochakiv. Private houses, cars, agricultural machinery and a power line were damaged. Six people were injured.

In the Zaporizhzhia region in the south, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russians struck 422 times at Varvarivka, Novoandriivka, Novopavlivka, Bilohiria, Piatykhatky, Poltavka, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Bilenke, and Uspenivka. Ten private houses were destroyed. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russians shelled Pryozerne, Antonivka, Mykilske, Odradokamianka, Bilozerka, Sadove, Stanislav, Poniativka, Pravdyne, Shyroka Balka, Beryslav, Novodmytrivka, Prydniprovske, Novoraisk, and Kherson.  Two multi-storey buildings, 23 private houses, gas pipelines, a warehouse, outbuildings, a garage, agricultural machinery, and private cars were damaged. Eleven people were injured, including one child. Two people were killed.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka. The regional military administration reports no casualties.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russians struck 117 times at 35 settlements in the region. An apartment block, 32 private residential buildings and a car were damaged. Two people were injured.
