Russian guided missile strike hits Kharkiv, kills three, including two kids, injures 34
On the night of October 31, Russia attacked Ukraine with four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, eight X-59/69 aircraft missiles, and 43 Shahed combat drones and unspecified UAVs. The Air Defence Forces reported shooting down 17 combat drones and two aircraft missiles in the Odesa, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Poltava regions. Another 23 drones lost radar contact.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia in the east of Ukraine, the Russians shelled Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. 16 cars and 14 apartment blocks were damaged. Thirty-four civilians were injured, including one child. Three people have died, including two children. The Russians also shelled Odnorobivka, Kucherivka, Perovske and Kupiansk. Six residents were wounded, including two police officers. One person died.
In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline in the east of Ukraine, the Russian army launched 3,107 attacks on Druzhkivka, Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Zarechne, Shevchenkove, Shcherbynivka, Berestki, Dalne, Rozdolne, Serhiivka, Sontsivka, Ulaklakh, and Uspenivka. Fifteen residential buildings, a farm, an educational institution, a medical facility, shops, civilian cars, a gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged. Three civilians were injured and five others died.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Dnipro, Nikopol, and the Marhanets, Myrove, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovsk, and Hrushivka communities. Private houses, gas pipelines, and solar panels were damaged. One child was injured.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russian army conducted 384 attacks on 11 settlements. Five private houses were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Mykolaiv region, south of Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Kutsurub community. An outbuilding and a car were damaged. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Kherson region, south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, the Russian army shelled Antonivka, Beryslav, Blahovishchenske, Bilozerka, Havrylivka, Dudchany, Mykilske, Pryozerne, Stanislav, Novokairy, Kizomys, Zelenivka, Komyshany, Sadove, Novoraisk and Kherson. A library, 21 private houses, lock-ups, a bus and private cars were damaged. One civilian was killed and six were injured.
In the Odesa region, south of Ukraine, the Russians targeted the bridge across the Dnister estuary in Zatoka with two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and eight X-59/69 aircraft missiles. The Air Defence reported shooting down two aircraft missiles over the Black Sea.
In the Kyiv region, bordering Belarus to the north, the Russian army shelled Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. The debris from combat drones damaged residential buildings, an administrative building, and power lines. The Kyiv city military administration reports no casualties.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, the Russians shelled Novhorod-Siverskyi and Koriukivka communities. The regional military administration reported no casualties.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian army struck 171 times at 34 settlements in the region. Seven private residential buildings were damaged. Twenty civilians were injured, and one died.
