Russian Defence Ministry reports alleged attack by Ukrainian drones on Russia

The Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has announced a night attack by allegedly Ukrainian drones.

The ministry's press service reported this.

Russian air defence allegedly shot down 35 Ukrainian drones over Lipetsk, Rostov and Volgograd regions.

The governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, said this was the first attack on the region. According to him, there was no damage or casualties.

The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, said that most of the UAVs were shot down. According to Golubev, the drones fell in the area of Morozovsk and Kamensk.

The Russian Telegram channel ASTRA reports that the attack targeted an airfield in Morozovsk. According to open data, the 559th Guards Bombardment Regiment is based there.

Frontline bombers Su-24, Su-24M, and Su-34 are also stationed at the airfield.

Russia uses these aircraft, in particular, for missile and bomb attacks on the territory of Ukraine.
