Russian attacks on Nikopol kill a woman and a 12-year-old child. A man and a 4-year-old child are in critical condition

On September 22, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian cities with two X-59/69 guided missiles and 80 Shahed combat UAVs. The enemy's air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, mobile fire groups, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, 71 combat UAVs were shot down, and another six drones lost radar contact. 

In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled the Nikopol district, including the city of Nikopol, as well as the communities of Chervonohryhorivka, Myrove, Pokrovske, and Marhanets. A 12-year-old child and a woman died as a result of a kamikaze drone hitting a civilian car in Nikopol. A man and a 4-year-old child were injured, the latter in critical condition with shrapnel wounds to the head, upper limb, and forearm. A utility company, a gas station, private houses, outbuildings, garages, power lines, gas pipelines, and vehicles were damaged. 

In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline,  Russian troops attacked Hirnyk, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Siversk, Sloviansk, Kurakhivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Raihorodok, Udachne, Andriivka, Bohoiavlenka, Dorozhne, Kleban Byk, Kostiantynopil, Kostiantynopilske, Nove, and Shakhtarske with air, artillery, and MLRS. Three residents of the Donetsk region were killed by Russian attacks, and 12 others were injured, including a child. Residential buildings, an orphanage, enterprises, educational institutions, an administrative building, a shopping and entertainment center, a monument, non-residential premises, cars, and communications were damaged or destroyed. In total, the Russians fired 3028 times in the region. 

In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia to the east, the Russians hit an apartment building with a guided aerial bomb in the middle of the night. Twenty-one civilians were injured, including three children (a 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl, and an 8-year-old girl). Neighboring houses and vehicles were also damaged. Russian troops also shelled Balakliia, Verbivka, Konstiantynivka, Bohuslavka, Pidlyman, and Skovorodynivka during the day. There were no casualties as a result of these attacks, but private houses and a warehouse were damaged. 

In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russia shelled Kherson, Prydniprovske, Antonivka, Sadove, Inhulets, Komyshany, Bilozerka, Tomyna Balka, Kizomys, Veletenske, Stanislav, Beryslav, Novokairy, Dudchany, Kachkarivka, Zmiivka, and Vesele. Five civilians were injured as a result of the Russian attack. Educational institutions, a social laundry, a shop, apartment buildings, private houses, a gas pipeline, warehouses, and cars were damaged or destroyed.

In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, Russia struck at the Kutsurub community. As a result, a private house, a cultural center, outbuildings, a garage and a car were destroyed or damaged in the villages of Dmytrivka and Parutyne. There were no casualties.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, Russian forces shelled Zaporizhzhia, Natalivka, Orikhiv, Novodarivka, Temyrivka, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, and Malynivka with UAVs, aircraft, MLRS, and artillery. As a result of the attacks, infrastructure and residential buildings were damaged, and no civilians were injured. 

In the Khmelnytskyi region in the west of Ukraine, the Air Force shot down eight Shahed combat UAVs. As a result of falling debris, a residential building was damaged in Khmelnytskyi. There were no casualties.

In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, Russian troops attacked the communities of Khotin, Bilopillia, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysarivka, Richky, Putyvl, Nova Sloboda, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, and Shostka. There is no information on casualties or damage.

In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russian troops fired artillery, mortars, MLRS, UAVs, and tanks at settlements in the communities of Novhorod-Siverskyi, Horodnia, Semenivka, and Snovsk. There is no information about the damage and casualties. 

In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army attacked Makiivka, Kuzemivka, Stelmakhivka, and Balka Zhuravka with artillery, MLRS, and UAVs. There is no information on casualties or damage.
