Russian army uses chemical munitions during shelling of Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia region

Russia used chemical weapons during the shelling of Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
This was reported by the commander of the Tavria operational-strategic group, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi.
In his words, the Russians fired two artillery shellings at Novodanylivka with MLRS munitions, allegedly containing chloropicrin. There are no casualties.
The UN Chemical Weapons Convention prohibits the use of this substance. Russia is one of the signatories to the convention.
This is not the first time the Russian army has used chemical weapons.
For example, on July 4, the spokesperson for the Tauride Defence Forces, Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi, reported that Russians had used chemical weapons based on the element lewisite in the Bakhmut sector.
