Russia was likely working on preparing a small number of new T-14 Armata main battle tanks for the first combat use in Ukraine

The Defence Intelligence of the UK reported this.

However, Russian troops were reluctant to accept them due to their unsatisfactory condition and problems with equipment.

In general, over the past three years, Russian officials have publicly described problems with the T-14's engine and thermal imaging systems.

British intelligence believes it is unlikely that any deployed T-14 tanks will meet the usual standards by which new equipment is deemed operational.
