Russia tries to rejoin UN Human Rights Council — BBC

Russian representatives are seeking to rejoin the UN Human Rights Council.
The BBC reported this.
Journalists have obtained a copy of a document that Russia is circulating among UN members asking for support.
Russia promises to find "adequate solutions for human rights issues" and seeks to stop the council from becoming an "instrument which serves political wills of one group of countries."
The vote will take place next month.
In April 2022, Russia was expelled from the UN's leading human rights body after its forces launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
