Russia is breaking agreements with the UN and Türkiye, Ukraine had no agreements with them — Zelenskyy
Zelensky reacted to Peskov's statement about the termination of the Black Sea Agreement.
Serhii Nykyforov, the President's spokesperson, wrote about this on his social media.
"Even without Russia, we must do everything to ensure that we can use this Black Sea corridor. We have been approached by companies that own these ships. They said that they are ready if Ukraine sends them away and Türkiye lets them through, so everyone is ready to continue supplying grain," Zelenskyy said.
The Foreign Ministry will also appeal to Türkiye and the UN to continue the grain initiative.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called Russia's withdrawal from the grain deal a cynical step.
"I strongly condemn Russia’s cynical move to terminate the Black Sea Grain Initiative, despite UN & Türkiye’s efforts. EU is working to ensure food security for the world’s vulnerable. EU Solidarity Lanes will continue bringing agrifood products out of Ukraine & to global markets," von der Leyen wrote on her social media.
Turkish President Erdoğan said that the Black Sea Agreement made history as a diplomatic success. The agreement allowed the transportation of more than 33 million tonnes of grain, which helped prevent food shortages in many countries.
It will be recalled that Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was withdrawing from the grain deal due to non-compliance with the terms by the Russian side.
