~Russia illegally detains 25,000 Kremlin prisoners

According to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, this is the number of civilians abducted by the Russian Federation.

The ZMINA Human Rights Centre has found that at least 21 prisoners require urgent medical care and may die unless they receive it.

During the full-scale invasion, the National Police began investigating the enforced disappearance of 8,800 people.

Russian Children's Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova claims Russia has illegally abducted over 700,000 children from Ukraine.

The Media Initiative for Human Rights has identified about one hundred places where abducted civilians are held.

The Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Qırım) confirms 217 illegally imprisoned Ukrainian citizens, 132 of whom are Qırımtatarlar.

During the full-scale war, 3,597 Ukrainian citizens, including 167 civilians, were returned to Ukraine.

A Russian court has sentenced Ukrainian soldier Ivan Nechyporenko to five and a half years for participating in hostilities.

The Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don has sentenced Ukrainian serviceman Ivan Nechyporenko to five and a half years in a maximum security prison. The man is charged with alleged involvement in a terrorist group and participation in hostilities against Russians.  

In 2014, Ivan joined the ranks of the Aidar volunteer battalion. As a member of the battalion, he took part in the fighting in Donbas. After the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he fought as part of the 115th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In January 2022, he was captured by the Russians in the Sumy region.

In Russia, the Ukrainian assault battalion Aidar, which is part of the regular army of Ukraine, is recognized as an alleged terrorist organization. 

Crimean Tatar Mamut Belialov was sentenced to 12 years in prison for allegedly preparing the murder of the “ex-minister of tourism”

The occupation “Kyiv District Court” of Simferopol (Aqmescit) passed a verdict in the case of Mamut Belialov, who was accused of allegedly possessing weapons and preparing the murder of the former head of the occupation “Ministry of Resorts and Tourism” of Crimea (Qırım) Vadim Volchenko.

Mamut Belialov was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony. He was also fined 350 thousand rubles (~3,700 USD). In addition, the “court” collected one million rubles (~10,500 USD) from the Crimean Tatar in favor of Volchenko.

Mamut Belyalov, a 24-year-old resident of Sovetske, was detained on September 10, 2022, in Feodosia (Kefe). After being accused of an alleged attempted murder, Belialov was subjected to severe torture and held in the Simferopol detention center.

Activist Yashar Muedinov needs to be examined by a surgeon

The 56-year-old Crimean Tatar activist Yashar Muedinov, sentenced to 13 years, complained to his lawyer about severe pain in his arm and swelling in his legs. The prison in Dimitrovgrad, Ulyanovsk region, where the political prisoner is being held, has no surgeon who can examine him.

Muedinov repeatedly complained of health problems. He told his wife about the swelling of his lower extremities at the end of August during their meeting. Since then, the necessary examination of the political prisoner has not been carried out. Yashar Muedinov is allowed to call his family once a month, the call lasts up to 15 minutes. Because of this, the family cannot quickly learn about the health of the Crimean Tatar activist. 

Wife of political prisoner Server Zekiriaiev demands to check the conditions of her husband's detention

Zarema Zekiriaieva, the wife of Server Zekiriaiev, who was sentenced to 13 years in prison, sent a letter to the Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Tula region. She demands to check the conditions of her husband's detention. 

In the letter, Zekiriaiev's wife described her husband's condition as “severe poisoning and exhaustion” with vomiting and severe stomach pain. In response, the Investigative Committee called on the acting head of the investigative department for the city of Donskoy, Tula region, to organize a review of Zekiriaieva's appeal.

In March and August of this year, Server Zekiraiev already reported about the poor conditions in penal colony No. 1 in the Tula region. The political prisoner's health is deteriorating. He vomits foam after eating, he feels constantly dizzy. At that time, the prosecutor's office indicated that the conditions were “acceptable for detention.”

Server Zekiriaiev was detained in Bakhchysarai (Bağçasaray) on October 11, 2017. He was imprisoned for alleged involvement in the activities of the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir. The organization has been banned in Russia since 2003. 

The Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia refused to change the place of imprisonment of Remzi Bekirov

The Department for the Execution of Sentences and Special Accounting of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia refused to transfer civilian journalist Remzi Bekirov from the Republic of Khakassia to a colony located closer to home. 

The Department replied that they saw no reason to change the journalist's place of detention.  According to the political prisoner's wife, Khalide Bekirova, this is the fifth refusal to transfer her husband to a colony closer to Crimea (Qırım). Now, her husband is more than five thousand kilometers away from home. This complicates the circumstances for Ramzi's visits with his children.

Remzi Bekirov was convicted for allegedly organizing the activities of a terrorist organization. Prior to his imprisonment, the citizen journalist covered political repressions against Crimean residents.

The medical unit of the Detention Center-1 in Simferopol (Aqmescit) did not accept the documents on the disability of the blind Oleksandr Sizikov

Employees of the medical unit of the Simferopol detention center No. 1 did not accept the medical documents of blind Oleksandr Sizikov, who was sentenced to 17 years in prison. 

The medical unit stated that they would conduct a medical examination for Oleksandr on their own.

After an accident in 2009, Oleksandr Sizikov lost his sight completely. He also underwent surgery to remove his spleen and has a chronic disease of the stomach and cervical spine. The man needs regular massages, regular monitoring by specialists, as well as rehabilitation courses.

Political prisoner Rustem Seithalilov was transferred from a prison in the Ulyanovsk region

On September 24, activist Rustem Seithalilov was taken from a prison in the Ulyanovsk region to a Russian colony. The final place of detention, according to Rustem's wife, is still unknown.

In 2022, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Rustem Seithalilov to 14 years in prison. The Moscow Military Court of Appeal upheld the decision.

Political prisoner with bronchial asthma Timur Yalkabov was denied an inhaler

In prison, Timur Yalkabov was not given inhalers until he had an attack. The drugs that were in the medical unit of the prison were not suitable for the political prisoner. The medicines handed over by Yalkabov's family were not given out without a doctor who was on vacation. But after another critical condition of the political prisoner, the prison staff took out one inhaler from the relatives' parcel.

The Crimean Tatar activist was sentenced to 17 years in prison in 2022 for allegedly organizing terrorist activities.

The youngest political prisoner, Appaz Kurtamet, has been behind bars for more than two years

Until December this year, 22-year-old Appaz Kurtamet will be held in the prison “Vladimir Central.” Then, he will be transferred to the colony. 

In July 2022, Kurtamet decided to go to Novooleksiivka to check the condition of his family home. There, he was abducted by Russian security forces. According to the boy's mother, he was detained because of a bank transaction found on his phone. He lent 500 hryvnias to his fellow student from Eskişehir (Türkiye). For three months, Appaz was unable to contact his family.

In April 2023, the occupation “court” in Simferopol (Aqmescit) sentenced Appaz Kurtamet to 7 years for allegedly financing terrorism.
