Russia has already fired ballistic missiles received from North Korea at Ukraine — The White House
White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said that Russia has already fired ballistic missiles at Ukraine, which it received from North Korea.
White House spokesperson John Kirby said this during a briefing.
According to Kirby, recently declassified intelligence showed that North Korea provided Russia with launchers and several ballistic missiles.
On December 30, 2023, the Russians launched at least one North Korean ballistic missile at Ukraine. It hit an open field in the Zaporizhzhia region.
And on January 2, 2024, Russia launched a series of North Korean missiles at Ukraine, the consequences of which are still being assessed.
On that day, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. Most of the attacks hit Kyiv and Kharkiv.
These DPRK missiles are capable of hitting targets at a distance of approximately 900 kilometres. This is a significant increase in the DPRK's support for Russia, which is worrying,
Kirby added.
In exchange for the ballistic missiles, the DPRK wants to receive fighter jets, surface-to-air missiles, armoured vehicles, ballistic missile production facilities and advanced military technology from Russia.
