Russia fires over 20 missiles from North Korea at Ukraine

Kyiv, Ukraine (Svydomi) — Ukraine's Security Service has confirmed that Russia has fired over 20 missiles from North Korea at Ukraine.

The missiles in question were Hwasong-11 (KN-23/24) ballistic missiles, manufactured in the DPRK.

One of the first cases of the use of North Korean missiles was recorded on December 30, 2023, during the shelling of Zaporizhzhia. The next time the occupiers fired missiles from the DPRK at Kyiv was in January this year, killing four people.

The same missiles hit residential buildings in five frontline villages in the Donetsk region, killing 17 civilians. Kharkiv also came under attack from North Korean missiles, killing three people.

The Security Service of Ukraine opened proceedings on the fact of aiding and abetting Russia and violating the laws and customs of war. Investigators are now looking for logistical routes used by the DPRK to supply missiles to Russia.

Previously, the United States imposed sanctions due to the supply of ballistic missiles from North Korea to Russia.
