Romania may extend the ban on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products for 30 days
Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said he would appeal to the country's ministers of agriculture and economy with a request to extend the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products for 30 days.
RFI cites a statement from the head of the Romanian government.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said he had discussed grain exports with Ukrainian Prime Minister Shmyhal over the weekend.
He noted that on September 18, he was expecting a proposal on licensing the export of grain from the Ukrainian prime minister, which would be discussed.
"If there are requests for export to Romania, I will definitely ask the Minister of Agrarian Policy and the Minister of Economy to adopt a joint order that restrictions will be extended for a period of 30 days until everything is clarified," he said.
It will be recalled that Romania, unlike Poland, Hungary or Slovakia, did not impose national embargoes after the European Commission lifted the restrictions.
