Romania confirms Russian drone debris fell on its territory

Romanian Defence Minister Angel Tîlvăr has confirmed that the wreckage of a Russian drone fell on Romanian territory as a result of the September 5 attack.

This was reported by Antena3.

Tîlvăr says that the Romanian side found debris similar to the remains of a Russian drone near the village of Plauru, which borders Ukraine's Izmail across the Danube River.

"We covered a very large area, including the area about which there were discussions in the public space, and I confirm that pieces were found that could be a drone," he added.

In his opinion, security measures should be strengthened with more observation posts and patrols.

At the same time, Angel Tîlvăr added that the wreckage did not pose a threat.

Earlier, the Romanian president had denied [the downing of] Russian drones in the country. At the time, he said that there was no part, no drone, no part of any device that would end up in Romania.
