Robert Fico becomes Slovakia’s Prime Minister
The leader of the pro-Russian Smer party has become the Prime Minister of Slovakia for the fourth time.

His candidacy was approved by President Zuzana Čaputová.
As prime minister, Fico presented President Zuzana Čaputová with proposals for the composition of the government. However, the appointment of the new government had to be postponed due to the debate on the election of the new Speaker of the Parliament.
Earlier, the parties "Course — Social Democracy" (Smer), "Holos" (Hlas) and the Slovak National Party signed an agreement on the coalition. According to the agreement, they distributed government positions in the ratio of 7:7:3.
