Putin meets with Kim Jong Un at the Vostochny cosmodrome in the Amur region

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the Amur region of Russia.

Russian propaganda media published the videos of the meeting.

The heads of state toured the Vostochny cosmodrome and held meetings as part of expanded delegations and later in a one-on-one format.

Putin confirmed that the leaders planned to discuss arms supplies to Russia.

On September 5, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said during a briefing that the United States has long publicly discussed the possibility of North Korea supplying weapons to Russia. Negotiations between Russia and the DPRK, he said, are "actively advancing."

"There is such an intense effort on the part of Moscow to generate this kind of support from North Korea [because] we have continued to squeeze Russia’s defense industrial base, and they are now going about looking to whatever source they can find for things like artillery ammunition," Sullivan said.

It will be recalled that in July, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un met with Russian Defence Minister Shoigu.
