The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has declared the order to transfer the property and premises of the Kyiv Cave Monastery to the UOC-MP for free use "invalid".

The Cabinet of Ministers of the fugitive former president Viktor Yanukovych adopted the order in 2013.

"By several legal decisions, the management of the Lavra's property was transferred to the state because it is the state that owns these objects," wrote Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.

On March 29, the agreement between the national reserve and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) expired.

On March 30, the Commission for the Acceptance and Transfer of State Property of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve failed to start its work due to physical obstruction by the UOC-MP.
