Polish Foreign Ministry condemns anti-Ukrainian slogans at agricultural protests on the Polish-Ukrainian border

Warsaw, Poland (Svidomi) — Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński commented on the controversial slogans used by rioters during protests in Poland.

One of the farmers who took part in the protest in Gorzyczki Silesian Voivodeship in southern Poland, which does not border Ukraine put the USSR flag on his tractor and hung a banner calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to "put things in order with Ukraine, Brussels" and the Polish government.

"Speaking anti-Ukrainian tirades now, praising Putin and calling on him to finish off Ukrainians, sounds like an attempt to hijack the farmers' movement by extreme, irresponsible elements or pro-Putin agents," said Paweł Wroński.

In his opinion, such slogans harm Poland and the reputation of the Polish people, who "were the first to accept Ukrainians and open their homes to them". These slogans also harm the protest and the farmers, who "often put forward reasonable demands".

Wroński called on the organisers of the agricultural strikes to look at who is bringing the pro-Russian narrative to the protests and distance themselves from such people.
