Police: It is impossible to identify the body of an infant killed in a fire

Kharkiv, Ukraine (Svidomi) — Ukrainian police report that it is impossible to identify the body of an infant who died in a fire in Kharkiv caused by a Russian attack.

"The temperature of the fire was so high that the bones and body of the infant turned almost into ashes... We are collecting everything and taking it to the morgue for examination," said Serhii Bolvinov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Police Investigation Department.

Police assume the older and younger boys were with their mother in the bathroom. The middle one, Mykhailo, was with his father. The man probably fainted first, and the child hid in a kitchen corner.

On the evening of February 9, Russians attacked Kharkiv with Shahed drones. The shelling resulted in a fuel leak, which mixed with snow and spread through the street. A fire broke out in 15 houses.

Seven people were killed: an elderly couple died in one house, and a family with three children (a seven-year-old, four-year-old and ten-month-old boys) in another.

The bodies of those killed in the fire were seriously burned, and it will be necessary to conduct DNA tests to make a final conclusion.
