Poland to suspend imports of agricultural goods from Ukraine until June 30

The Polish government has suspended imports of Ukrainian agricultural products from Ukraine.

The relevant decision was published by the Minister of Development and Technology of Poland Waldemar Buda.

In particular, Poland has banned imports of cereals, sugar, dry feed, seeds, hops, flax and hemp, fruits and vegetables, processed fruit and vegetable products, wine, beef and veal, pork, lamb and goat, eggs, poultry, dairy products, ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin, bee products, etc.

The decision to introduce this ban was commented on by the leader of the ruling Law and Justice party, Jarosław Kaczyński. He says a possible crisis in the Polish countryside would affect the situation of all Poles.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports they want to hold talks on this issue in the near future. After all, a week ago the parties agreed that four crops: wheat, corn, sunflower seeds and rapeseed will only transit through Poland until July 1, 2023.

The Ministry also proposes to agree with the Polish side on a new Memorandum of Understanding that will take into account the interests of Ukraine and Poland "in the spirit of constructive, reliable, effective cooperation for both countries."
