Poland deploys a military task force on the Belarusian border

The Polish government has decided to deploy a military task force on the Belarusian border to respond to possible provocations at the border.
This was announced by Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
Polish troops have launched Operation RENGAW. During the operation, the military will conduct exercises and form a reserve in case the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border deteriorates. Up to 4000 troops will take part in the operation.
"There is no doubt that the Belarusian regime is cooperating with the Kremlin and the attacks on the Polish border are aimed at destabilising our country. But I am convinced that this action will fail, thanks to the service of the Polish Army and the strengthening of the border... This military task force has a training and defensive nature. We have the GRYF operation under the command of the Border Guard Service, which is about sealing and strengthening the border," Błaszczak
said.
Earlier, the Polish authorities said they would send 10,000 troops to reinforce the border with Belarus. Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak said that four thousand soldiers would be directly involved in supporting the Border Guard Service, while another six thousand would be in reserve.
