People's Deputy Oleksandr Dubinskyi has been served with a notice of suspicion of high treason. The court sent him to a pre-trial detention centre for 60 days without bail
A Ukrainian Member of Parliament and four other people were served suspicion notices of treason committed by the organisation. The group discredited Ukraine in the international arena. The court has already sent Dubinskyi to a pre-trial detention centre for 60 days without bail.
The Security Service of Ukraine and the Office of the Prosecutor General reported this.
The SSU and the State Bureau of Investigation have collected evidence of high treason by People's Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky, who conducted information and subversive activities in favour of Russia under the call sign Buratino (Pinocchio).
In addition to Dubinskyi, the group included former Deputy Andrii Derkach, who went abroad before the full-scale invasion. The agent network also included former prosecutor Kostiantyn Kulyk, who is also a fugitive from justice abroad. The head of the agent network in Ukraine was Ihor Kolesnikov. This group was founded by the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Vladimir Alekseev.
They were engaged in discrediting Ukraine in the international arena in order, among other things, to worsen relations with the United States. For this, they received funds from Russian special services. We are talking about more than ten million dollars.
Dubinskyi's role in the organisation was to spread fakes about Ukraine's top military and political leadership.
In 2020, Oleksandr Dubinskyi and Andrii Derkach organised a press conference where Dubinskyi stated that Joe Biden's son, who served on the supervisory board of the Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma in 2014-2019, "received money in Ukraine".
In the run-up to the 2020 US presidential election, Biden's opponents claimed that in his capacity as US vice president, he had pressured the Ukrainian authorities not to investigate Burisma. The company's founder is Mykola Zlochevskyi, the Minister of Natural Resources during Yanukovych's presidency.
In May-July, Derkach released alleged recordings of conversations between Poroshenko and Biden as evidence of "external governance" of Ukraine. According to Derkach, he received the recordings from unnamed "investigative journalists" who claimed that Poroshenko himself recorded his conversations with Biden.
It is known that in December 2019, he met with Donald Trump's lawyer Rudolph Giuliani and discussed the creation of the Friends of Ukraine STOP Corruption inter-parliamentary group.
The group has not been heard of since, but the investigation into the impeachment of US President Donald Trump revealed that Giuliani was one of the curators of the so-called informal channel of US foreign policy towards Ukraine. This channel tried to pressure the Ukrainian authorities to launch investigations against Burisma and the Bidens, both senior and junior.
In 2021, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Andrii Derkach, Oleksandr Dubinskyi, Kostiantyn Kulyk, as well as Oleksandr Onyshchenko and Andrii Telizhenko.
According to the US side, Onishchenko provided edited audio copies of alleged audio recordings of conversations between former Ukrainian and US officials, which Derkach made public. And Telizhenko "organised meetings between Derkach and US officials".
Back then, the US Treasury Department called Andrii Derkach an agent of the Russian special services.
On September 16, 2022, Derkach was put on the wanted list on suspicion of high treason and illicit enrichment. In January 2023, Volodymyr Zelenskyy deprived Andrii Derkach of Ukrainian citizenship. After that, the Verkhovna Rada voted to revoke his parliamentary mandate.
