Olha Kharlan receives automatic qualification for the 2024 Olympics from the IOC
Fencer Olha Kharlan has received automatic qualification for the 2024 Olympics from the International Olympic Committee after being disqualified from the World Championship.
This was announced by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Vadym Hutsait.
Ukraine is currently working to lift the black card from Kharlan after she refused to shake hands with the Russian athlete, as well as to prevent similar situations in other sports.
As a reminder, during the World Fencing Championship, Ukrainian fencer Olha Kharlan refused to shake hands with her Russian rival Anna Smirnova. As a result, she was disqualified.
