North Macedonia expels three additional Russian diplomats

North Macedonia’s Foreign Ministry has ordered the expulsion of three Russian diplomats. This is the third such decision since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.

This was reported by RFE/RL's Balkan Service.

North Macedonia decided to expel Russian diplomats "after information indicated that their actions were contrary to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations".

The Russian side said that this "hostile step will not go unanswered".

At least 11 Russian diplomats were handed a note of protest and declared persona non grata.

North Macedonia first declared five Russian diplomats persona non grata in March 2022. Another six were declared in April of the same year.

It will be recalled that 22 diplomats and 23 members of technical staff left the Russian diplomatic mission in Chișinău together with their families.
