Nobel Physics Laureate to donate prize money to aid Ukrainians affected by war

Nobel Prize in Physics winner Krausz Ferenc will donate his prize money to support Ukrainians affected by the war.

He announced this in an interview with Deutschlandfunk radio station.

He will donate the funds to the Science4People initiative, which supports educational projects for internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

One of these projects is the renovation of a primary school in the village of Bakosha in Zakarpattia, where children of IDPs study. The initiative also provides schoolchildren with equipment for online learning and builds sports facilities in the schoolyard.

Ferenc Krausz is a Hungarian-born physicist who, together with a group of scientists, first generated and measured attosecond light pulses to study the dynamics of electrons in matter.
