NATO member countries support Ukraine's decision to apply for membership in the alliance — Stoltenberg

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the member states of the alliance do not recognize the so-called "accession" of the temporarily occupied territories to Russia.

Stoltenberg also noted that NATO is not part of the conflict, but will provide support to Ukraine so that it can uphold its right to self-defense, enshrined in the UN charter.

"Decisions on membership should be made by all 30 NATO members. Now, our main goal is to help Ukraine defend itself," the Secretary General emphasized.
