More than 26,000 Ukrainians are reported missing

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 26,000 Ukrainians are still missing.
This was announced by Leonid Tymchenko, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, during a national telethon.
Of these, 11,000 are civilians and almost 15,000 are military personnel.
Information about missing persons is entered into the Unified Register of Missing Persons in cooperation with the police and intelligence. Almost 9,000 families have received extracts from the register so far.
Tymchenko explains that a person is considered missing regardless of whether he or she is a military serviceman or a civilian who went missing in the temporarily occupied territory or in areas where hostilities are ongoing.
It will be recalled that in May, the Commissioner for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances (this position has already been abolished by the Cabinet of Ministers - ed.) also reported that over 15,000 cases of missing persons had been opened since the start of the full-scale invasion. 15% were civilians.
