Missile strike on the nursing home in Sumy kills one woman and injures 14 civilians

On the night of September 20, the Russians attacked Ukraine with three missiles of an unspecified type, an X-59 guided missile, and 70 Shahed-type combat UAVs. The Air Force reported shooting down 61 combat UAVs and one X-59 guided missile. The Air Force operated in the Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Poltava, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Odesa, and Kherson regions.
In the Sumy region, bordering Russia to the north, the Russian Federation shelled the communities of Sumy, Mykolaivka, Khotin, Yunakivka, Myropillia, Bilopillia, Richky, Krasnopillia, Trostianets, Velyka Pysarivka, Putyvl, Nova Sloboda, Hlukhiv, Esman, Shalyhyne, Druzhba, Svesa, and Seredyna-Buda. The shelling of the nursing home killed one woman and injured 14 civilians. The roof, upper surfaces of the building, windows, and doors of the institution were damaged. Three civilians were wounded in an attack by FPV drones.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region in south-central Ukraine, the Russians shelled Nikopol and Marhanets, as well as the communities of Chervonohryhorivka, Marhanets, and Pokrovske. Infrastructure, six private houses, four outbuildings, and a power line were damaged. A garage roof and a car were burning. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, partially occupied in the south since 2022, the Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvasi, Kamianske, Stepnohirsk, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, Malynivka, Zaliznychne, Preobrazhenka, and Shcherbaky. Forty-five residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged. Over the day, 288 attacks were registered in the region. According to the regional military administration, there were no casualties.
In the Kyiv region, where the capital of Ukraine is located, grass flooring in two districts caught fire as a result of the fall of downed drone debris.
In the Donetsk region, partially occupied since 2014 and located on the frontline, Russia shelled Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, Lyman, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Siversk, Chasiv Yar, Hostre, Zarichne, Kurakhivka, Nelipivka, Zhelanne Pershe, Zoria, Novoukrainka, Pershe Travnia, Rivne, and Serebrianka. Forty-three residential buildings, a hospital, an educational institution, a shop, enterprises, and critical infrastructure were damaged. Three residents were killed, and eight were injured. Over the day, 2,816 hostile attacks were recorded.
In the Luhansk region, almost completely occupied by Russia, the Russian army shelled Makiivka and Balka Zhuravka. They used artillery and 108 UAVs to attack.
In the Lviv region, bordering Poland to the west, a former collective farm building caught fire as a result of the fall of UAV debris. Three cars were also damaged, and windows in residential buildings were smashed.
In the Mykolaiv region in the south of Ukraine, the Russians attacked the community of Kutsurub with FPV drones. The regional military administration reports no casualties.
In the Kharkiv region, bordering Russia to the east, the Russian army attacked Shestakove, Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi, Novoosynove, Hrachivka, Kindrashivka, Vilcha, and Kupiansk. Windows in an apartment building, a gas pipe, a private household, and a farm were damaged. Three cars, three outbuildings, a house, an educational institution, and grass were on fire. Three civilians were injured, and one was killed.
In the Kherson region in the south of Ukraine, partially occupied since 2022, Russia shelled Kherson, Antonivka, Sadove, Inzhenerne, Komyshany, Prydniprovske, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Pryozerne, Mykilske, Darivka, Novovorontsovka, Novoberyslav, Zmiivka, Tomyna Balka, Blahovishchenske, and Kindiika. A critical infrastructure facility, five multi-story buildings, 17 private houses, and private cars were damaged. Eight civilians were injured.
In the Khmelnytskyi region in the west of Ukraine, a Russian Shahed combat UAV was seen flying in close proximity to the Khmelnytskyi NPP during a night attack.
In the Cherkasy region in the center of Ukraine, located along the Dnieper River, the forest litter caught fire as a result of falling debris.
In the Chernihiv region, bordering Belarus and Russia to the north, Russia fired at Kamianska Sloboda, Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Hremiach, Zaliznyi Mist, Mykolaivka, Karpovychi, Prohres, and Khrinivka. A car was damaged.
