MFA of Ukraine initiates criminal case against Russian Ombudsman for so-called "adoption" of a child abducted from Mariupol
Russian Presidential Ombudsman for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova has announced the so-called "adoption" of a boy from Mariupol abducted by Russians and confessed to facilitating the illegal adoption of about 350 children from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The MFA stressed that the Russian children's ombudsman's relevant actions violate Ukraine's legislation, the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 1949 and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child of 1989.
