Latvia revokes the license of the Russian TV channel Dozhd

This decision was made in connection with threats to national security and public order.

The National Council is convinced the management of Dozhd "does not understand and is not aware of the nature and seriousness of each individual violation". 

It may concern the incident on December 1. Then the presenter Alexey Korostelev urged viewers to send information about the lack of military equipment of persons mobilized to the Russian army. "We hope that we were able to help many soldiers with equipment or basic amenities at the front," he said. 

The statement drew criticism. The TV channel fired Korostelev. Several of his colleagues disagreed with this decision and left the channel.
