Kuleba: Despite promises, training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s has not started

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has stated that despite promises, training for Ukrainian F-16 pilots did not start in June.

Dmytro Kuleba said this during a national telethon.

Accordingly, the schedule for Ukraine's acquisition of the aircraft shifts.

"I was sure that we would receive the aircraft in the first months of the following year. I assume that training was supposed to start in June," Kuleba said.

One country promised to start training in June, but now the Ukrainian side has been told they need more time to prepare.

Ukraine has already started working with all coalition members to provide Ukraine with aircraft to speed up the process as much as possible. It is "very serious work": training pilots, and engineers, preparing infrastructure, and making legal decisions necessary for the transfer of aircraft.
