Joint exercises of the CSTO countries are scheduled for September in Belarus

This was stated by the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev.

In his words, joint military exercises of the CSTO countries are planned for September in Belarus. They may be used as a legitimisation of the military build-up.

"At the same time, today there are no signs of the formation of strike groups in the area of the Operational and Strategic Group of Forces "Pivnich"," the statement reads .

According to Naiev, Russia has not achieved its strategic goals, so provocations and sabotage on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border are possible.

The Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) is a military-political international organisation comprising Belarus, Qazaqstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tojikiston and Armenia.
