Japan imposes a ban on the export of general purpose goods related to the military capacity strengthening

It will come into force in February.

The ban will apply to certain materials: nuclear installations and devices, chemicals and toxic substances, water cannon systems, equipment for handling radioactive materials, tear gas, fingerprint powder, explosives, explosive detection equipment, portable generators, welding machines, etc.

Banned materials also include vaccines and medical equipment.

Japan will also freeze the assets of Russians and people associated with Russia.
