Italy and Ukraine sign agreement to restore Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral in Odesa

Italy and Ukraine have signed an agreement on the reconstruction of the Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi (Transfiguration) Cathedral in Odesa, damaged by a Russian missile attack in July.

This was reported by Ukrinform.

"Italy will work on the reconstruction," said Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. He also said that the best Italian architects would be involved in the restoration of the cathedral.

He added that Italy wanted to support Ukraine and protect international law.

"Justice means freedom and independence of Ukraine," the Italian Foreign Minister stressed.

It will be recalled that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that her country was ready to join the restoration of the Spaso-Preobrazhenskyi Cathedral in Odesa.
