Italian muralist Jorit came to the temporarily occupied Mariupol to create a new composition

Italian muralist Jorit arrived in the temporarily occupied Mariupol to create a new composition on a building damaged by hostilities.

The artist wrote about this on his Instagram page.

Jorit said that it was necessary to support "the people of Donbas, who have been fighting for eight years to free themselves from the Kyiv regime, which has nothing to do with democracy".

"We are told that they send missiles spending millions of euros because they are good and selfless (referring to Ukrainians - ed.), but the children of Donbas have been under bombs for eight years," the artist said.

Ukrainian artist Vitalii Hrekh reacted to these statements. He noted that in September 2022, foreign muralists, including those from Spain, Italy and Indonesia, came to Russia to create murals.

According to him, he personally wrote to those artists, but most of them blocked him.

"An exemplary 'fighter for peace'. I'm not even going to give an assessment of this because I can't find the words," commented Hrekh on Jorit's actions.
