Israel and Egypt refuse to evacuate 29 Ukrainian citizens from Gaza Strip

The security services of Israel and Egypt have refused to grant permission to evacuate 29 Ukrainian citizens from the Gaza Strip.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel Yevhen Korniichuk said this.

"To be frank, there are people who want to evacuate, but there is no possibility, as some of the people on the lists we submitted were rejected by the Israeli and Egyptian authorities," Korniichuk said.

All of those who were denied evacuation were men. Korniichuk clarified that in some cases, after the initial refusal, it was still possible to agree on the departure.

To recap, on December 10, Ukraine completed the evacuation of its citizens from the Gaza Strip

The evacuation of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip began on November 7, 2023. 

In total, Ukraine managed to evacuate more than 300 people from the region. In addition to Ukrainians, two Palestinians and nine Moldovan citizens were able to leave.
