International Criminal Court opens field office in Kyiv

The International Criminal Court has opened a field office in Kyiv. The opening was attended by ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

No details on the number of staff have been disclosed. It is known that all evidence of Russian war crimes will be investigated there.

The International Criminal Court Field Office in Ukraine is the largest ICC office outside The Hague.

"This is a new chapter in our cooperation. The work of the office will help strengthen the interaction between Ukraine and the ICC. It will increase the efficiency and promptness of response to the crimes that Russia continues to commit against Ukraine and Ukrainians on a daily basis," said Prosecutor General Andrii Kotin.

It will be recalled that on July 3, the International Centre of Investigation into Russia's invasion of Ukraine was launched in The Hague. This is one of the steps towards the possible establishment of a special tribunal against Russia.
