Chandrayaan-3 took the first images of the Moon after entering lunar orbit on August 5.
The press service of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) reported this.
The spacecraft orbited the Earth for 10 days and was sent into lunar orbit on August 1.
Together with the orbiter, lander, and lunar rover, Chandrayaan-3 is due to land on the lunar surface on August 23.
If the mission is successful, India will become the first country to make a controlled "soft landing" near the satellite's south pole.
It will be recalled that on July 14, ISRO launched an LVM3 launch vehicle to the Moon.
