In Moldova, six grain wagons travelling to Ukraine detached from the train and derailed.
The press service of the Moldovan Railways reported this.
The accident occurred on the Culma – Ceadîr-Lunga railway line. The train with 61 freight cars was heading to the Reni port in Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, welded rails failed due to "extremely high temperatures" and caused the accident.
"Representatives of the Emergency Service, law enforcement agencies, and a special commission of the Moldovan Railways arrived at the scene to investigate the causes and circumstances of the accident," the statement said.
