Hungary proposes to give Russia security guarantees and not to admit Ukraine to NATO

The head of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office, Gergely Gulyás, has suggested that the West should provide Russia with security guarantees. He also spoke out against Ukraine's accession to NATO.

He said this during an event at the University of Self-Education for law students.

"The Western world, which supports Ukraine, must provide security guarantees to Russia, but definitely not NATO membership to Ukrainians," said Gergely Gulyás.

He also advocated the deployment of peacekeepers in Ukraine, who "can ensure lasting peace in Ukraine."

It will be recalled that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recently said that the West should agree with Russia on a new security architecture. He also added that Ukraine's membership in NATO puts the whole world at risk of an inevitable war that "will affect even America."
